Thank you for your business this year. I look forward to working with you again in 2010. I hope you've had a wonderful summer and that the coming months are good to you and your family. It's never to early to prepare for the next tax season. Please keep in mind that the sooner you can get your documents to me, the sooner we can get them filed. If you are due a refund, you will typically receive it within 10 days when you e-file and use direct deposit. Should you owe, you will better be able to budget the payment. You are welcome to mail, e-mail, secure upload, fax, or drop off your documents. Please don't wait until the last seven days before tax returns are due as I will charge a premium fee for rushing. Make sure you prepare and then get your documents to me in a timely manner! Check out my website for checklists throughout the year.

Environmental Movement

In my effort to be more conscious about environmentally friendly methods of communicating, most of my clients received this letter electronically. If you did not, I would encourage you to register on my website to receive electronic communications as well. Registering on my website will also give you access to other features, including the secure document upload and online updates to personal information. Also, I'm not sending out referral coupons this year but have a list so check with me if you are curious about your referral discount.

Tax Planning

Make sure you notify me if your address, phone number, or any other personal information has changed. Don't forget to have required documents available on any new children (or other family members). If you have any changes in employment status, income level, investing practices, etc. don't hesitate to contact me to discuss tax consequences and preparation for the next year.

Appointments

As we approach January, please keep in mind how my appointment schedule works. I no longer prepare tax returns while you wait in order to ensure the highest quality and quickest turnaround for all of my clients. You may schedule a brief consultation for drop-off if your situation requires it. If you need a preparation appointment, a premium fee will apply. Feel free to contact me with questions or concerns. I have available a secure upload feature on my website for the safe and secure transmission of all documents.

Tax Law Updates

I have been monitoring the legislative changes and how they affect the tax laws. While I don't have any specific information to provide you with at this time, as things settle into place, I will write about it on my website blog, so make sure you keep an eye out for those articles!

Bank Products Continuation?

Last tax season, I partnered with the Santa Barbara Bank and Trust to provide bank products that are standards in today's market. As a client of mine, you could select from a number of refund options
including:

• Refund with tax fees withheld (charge applies)
• Refund anticipation loan with tax fees withheld (charge applies)

None of my clients used these products and if the bank allows me to participate again, I'm wondering if anyone will be interested. Please contact me if you would like me to offer these products again for the 2009 Tax Year.
